STEM

What is STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

We have been doing lots of STEM work at school, which allows our students to investigate and solve problems that they are naturally curious about relating to nature and our world.

In Science, we learn all about living things, energy & forces, materials and the environment through hands on, investigative learning.

We use Technology as much as we can to aid our learning, with the students using technology across all areas of the curriculum. iPads, interactive whiteboards, BeeBots and laptops are just a few of the types of technology that adds to our learning.

Engineering allows us to investigate how things work and how to create solutions. There are many different types of engineering work including electrical, mechanical, civil and chemical.

Maths is one of our core subjects. We believe children learn about maths best through practical, active problem solving and hands on activities. In maths we learn about numbers, measures, shapes, algebra and data.
